Fasting Chronicles Day 16

Fasting Chronicles Day 16:

Today started out okay. Not feeling as tired as yesterday, which is a great sign. Prepared lunches, snacks and breakfast and off to drop off the kids.

As we were getting ready, emotional cleansing overtook my husband. Similar to what I had gone through a few days ago. I just allowed him to go through the motions and had him embrace how he was feeling. Most people do not realise that in addition to the fat loss, mental clarity and everything else that comes with fasting, there is also the emotional aspect of it. Many times, although it seems like these feelings come from nowhere, they are actually suppressed emotions that are brought to the forefront.

I have ordered some meat from my local farmer's market and thought, since the water spring is nearby, I thought we could fill the empty containers we have. Surprisingly, we had six empty containers since we went last week. Lots of water drinking going on.

At the farmer's market, in addition to the meat, we picked up spaghetti squash, garlic, apples (courtland and fuji), eggs and two incredibly large onions.

On the way back home, we stopped at the grocery store. I cannot even count the amount of times I have been to the grocery since this fast began, but that is the story of my life. I would much rather go as I need items, than do one big shop, only to waste food, as it is uneaten. At the grocery store, I got ingredients to make the soup to break the fast. The husband got me a wok I had been wanting for so long. So excited. I couldn't thank him enough. As I came home, I realised I forgot to get cassava to put in the soup. I will have to get it tomorrow. Cassava is a root vegetable, a complex starch which will be very beneficial in the soup, as it would be easy on the stomach and the system.

My very large onions.

Like I've said before, fasting is not for everyone, but to those who have undertaken it, I am sure for most, it was a positive experience.

Came home and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on street food before going to pick up the kids.

Came back to continue watching the videos and relaxing before dinner. Energy is a lot higher today than yesterday. Thank goodness.

Tonight's dinner is dumplings made in my new wok. They cooked well and the kids really enjoyed them.

I have an appointment tonight, so I am going to take some water with me. Came back from the appointment and helped the kids get ready for bed.

Watched some TV (more cooking shows) before turning in for the night.

Day 17...homestretch.

Thank you for reading.

  2. Hey, TJ. My hair actually grows a lot when I fast. It has been doing well, but I know it will need a good wash after the fast.
